Stolen Land, Stolen Culture, Stolen Climate – a banner

We couldn’t beleive it when we heard it: BP was sponsoring an art exhibition at the British Museum featuring artefacts from indigenous communities in Australia.  Some of these artefacts were relics and ‘remains’ of ancestral origin, taken under dubious circumstances.  We could not have imagined such blatant insensitivity!  So,… with very short notice we decided to paint a banner, grab some outfits and make a peaceful intervention at the launch party.  We got a lot of attention and the video of the event aparently went viral down-under!   Please visit the excellent BP-or-not-BP website for a full explanation of the event including a very informative summary of the background to this story going back to Captain Cook.
